Crucial to every child’s development is the wide range of enrichment opportunities that permeate the academy.

We are committed to offering a wide range of experiences for our students, which includes the development of our on-site farm in 2016 to offer BTEC Animal Care in KS4 in partnership with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

These range from foreign residential visits (France, Germany and Japan) to involvement in our outdoor education programme including a visit to Lea Green Outdoor Education Centre, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Science visits to Shipley Park and the Space Centre, industrial visits in the D&T curriculum, theatre performances including the Brief Candle Theatre Company who regularly perform at the academy as part of the PSHE programme and academy music and drama productions.

Other extra-curricular opportunities include the Carnegie Book Award shadowing group, Toyota Challenge team, lunchtime clubs for Gardening, Science, Creative writing and a wide range of sporting clubs.
