NTU Trip
Nottingham Trent University Trip
The animal care department at KHCA has close connections with the leaders at NTU and therefore is able to offer an annual trip for Year 10 & Year 12 students.
Brackenhurst Campus
"As a working farm and a wildlife haven, our Brackenhurst countryside estate is fully equipped with outstanding facilities – from our brand new Lyth building at the heart of campus to our dedicated veterinary nursing centre, animal unit, food laboratory and more. These tools allow us to work on some of the most dynamic and innovative work in the field of animal, rural and environmental sciences."
"Brackenhurst Campus is an amazing community – from our students to our staff, to the animals themselves. It’s a truly special slice of the natural world with a thriving learning community all just a short bus ride away from the hustle and bustle of the city."
Trip intent
The trip has run successfully with great positive responses from students since 2021. The trip's intent is to provide an insight into the educational pathways that are available within further and higher education.
Activities
Throughout the day students partake in different activities ranging from tours, university lectures, and animal interactions, and students get to work inside the universities laboratories.
