Kirk Hallam Academy Students Celebrate GCSE Results

Kirk Hallam Academy students are today celebrating their GCSE results.

A total of 207 students sat GCSEs this year with nearly 70% gaining a 4+ in English and maths and 49% gaining a 5+. 12% of students achieved a 7+ in English and maths, this is the equivalent of an A or above.

Several students achieved a 9 in their subjects demonstrating the hard work and dedication of staff and students alike.

Damian Belshaw, Head of School, said: “This year group has had to overcome a significant number of challenges related to the pandemic and missing a significant period of the GCSE teaching. These results show the dedication they have demonstrated to overcome and hurdles and work exceptionally hard to achieve the results they need to choose their own path.”

“Just as with A-levels, I would like to thank staff, parents, the governing body, and Nova Education Trust, who have provided our students with care guidance and support.”

Tom Pearce, Deputy Headteacher, stated “Year 11 students have performed very well in their GCSE subjects this year, despite the challenges that they have faced during the last two academic years. We are proud of everyone for the resilience and determination shown.

Exceptional results were achieved by Eve Beharall with grade 9 in all subjects as well as Olivia Turton and Ryan Vaughan with average grades of 8.9 and 8.8 respectively. We look forward to welcoming many students back to start year 12 with us in September”

We wish all our students the best of luck for the future and their chosen pathways.
